Every wildflower planted tells a story of hope, action and community. As the Billion Wildflower Mission begins to grow, we’re committed to tracking our progress and celebrating the incredible impact that individuals, community groups and businesses are making around the world.

This idea began with a rainbow hitting a small wildflower meadow in my garden in Lancashire, England. Literally.

I suddenly dreamed of reaching one billion wildflowers. Could I really be that audacious to have such a lofty goal?

Now, thanks to pledges of support from Australia to the USA and countless hands ready to sow seeds into the soil, that dream is quickly becoming a vision I know will happen. It's not just about counting the numbers however, it’s about understanding the difference those numbers make.

Why Measuring Matters

Transparency and accountability are at the heart of every strong CSR initiative. By measuring our impact, we can see how our collective actions are restoring biodiversity, supporting pollinators and enhancing wellbeing across communities. This isn't greenwashing. These are real flowers planted by real people that are spreading real joy.

We’re tracking:

The total number of wildflowers pledged to be planted globally

The number of participating organisations, schools and individuals

The estimated area of restored pollinator habitats

The wellbeing benefits reported by our supporters

These insights help us understand how small actions create large scale change. They also allow businesses to include their participation in sustainability reports and CSR communications, showcasing real environmental and social impact. We can't wait to share so many beautiful pictures of biodiversity improvements in action.

The Ripple Effect

Beyond the data, the stories we’re hearing are truly inspiring. Teams are planning to use wildflower planting as staff wellbeing activity, schools are turning playgrounds into pollinator gardens and communities are coming together to transform unused spaces into meadows of colour and life.
